"what book got you hooked" meme?

FirstBook polled a bunch of people on what book (or series) got them hooked on reading; here's the top fifty list. Just for fun, put a plus in front of those you remember reading (or being read) in your childhood, a minus in front of those you don't remember reading.

And which book got you hooked? The first serious book I remember reading is Black Beauty, which made the list, but I'm pretty sure I was already hooked by then.

(And does anyone really buy the inclusion of "the Bible?" Not that parts of it aren't a good read...)
