what the heck is this thing?

It seems to be... kind of like a book. But there's this fur all around it. Stripey fur. Appropos of absolutely nothing, because there's not even a character in the book with stripey fur.

I think this tops the "touch-and-feel" books in which every single texture was terry-cloth as Most Inexplicable Gimmicky Board Book ever.
