and to all, a good fast
My Jewish books bibliography got a massive number of hits yesterday--people doing their last-minute Yom Kippur shopping. Unfortunately, the bibliography is still pretty short in that area. For some reason, a holiday devoted to fasting and repentance doesn't seem to stuff the bookshelves. As usual, I recommend The Family Treasury of Jewish Holidays by Malka Drucker, which I assure you treats the holiday with far more respect and dignity than I am according it in this frivolous, last-minute post.
