something to think about at 3 a.m.

I've never felt the urge towards creating fan-fic; I tend to be pretty satisfied to stay within the confines of a book. When it ends, it ends, and if it was a good book and a good ending, I don't need any more. Except every now and then, something comes up that bugs me. Like I just read a book in which a woman who had been raped discovered years later that the rapist was not the person she'd thought it was. And now I'm going crazy wondering if she ever, I dunno, apologized to the other guy for accusing him.

Which reminded me of the worst example I can think of of this, from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Remember the animals who got a picnic from Father Christmas, and were turned into stone by the White Witch? My mom assured me that of COURSE Aslan would know they were there and of COURSE he would go find them and bring them back to life. But still, I would like the comfort of actually seeing it in print.

Anyone else have one of these or am I the only nut job?
