"what book got you hooked" meme?
FirstBook polled a bunch of people on what book (or series) got them hooked on reading; here's the top fifty list. Just for fun, put a plus in front of those you remember reading (or being read) in your childhood, a minus in front of those you don't remember reading.
And which book got you hooked? The first serious book I remember reading is Black Beauty, which made the list, but I'm pretty sure I was already hooked by then.
(And does anyone really buy the inclusion of "the Bible?" Not that parts of it aren't a good read...)

2Bligs:
I remember reading a lot of them, but can't remember if it was when I was a kid, or when my grown kids were kids. I think probably a lot of those books did not exist when I was a kid...
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
A story of a horse and possibly one of the best-loved animal stories of all time. This novel will inspire young readers to be kind and compassionate to animals. It will teach young readers to treat everyone with kindness and respect.
I loved it and it's the greatest novel of all times of the greatest horse story ever told. I loved it :-)
