crunchy babies, mmmm.....
I gave A Teeny Tiny Baby as a big-sister gift at a baby shower, and it was such a hit; all my friends liked it for the same reasons I did, because it reflects their parenting reality while also being cute and fun. (Why must books published by small presses specifically for non-mainstream parents so often look so dreary?) I wasn't a parent when the book first came out in 1994, but still I was struck by how... comfortable it was to see people in a picture book who looked like people I might know. A dad with a beard, wow!
Anyway, I have gathered my reviews of A Teeny Tiny Baby and other like-minded books into a bibliography I call Crunchy Living, which I'm thinking I should subtitle, "Books my mama friends would like."
