transitioning?
Margaret comments on my post about transitioning to adult books: "For me, it wasn't a question of transitioning FROM one TO the other, but of expanding my reading to include "older age" books without giving up the "younger" categories." A good point: that was very true for me as well, and if the term "transitioning" implies giving up something, then clearly we diehard children's book readers need a better word. Suggestions?

Evan's suggestion is good.
I, unfortunately, did fully transition in 5th grade and missed out on a lot. I think that's why I've returned to children's books in my 30s. So, for some people it is a clear transition, usually suggested by well-intentioned parents and teachers. "Oh, you can read at an adult leve? How about some Twain, some Hesse, some Dostoevsky!"
I'm making up for lost time now :)
