Currently Reading: Alternatives to Sex by Stephen McCauley

Bookseller Chick is doing a survey of favorite midlist authors. Stephen McCauley is one of mine. I didn't particularly care for his last two books but this one is great; I'm laughing constantly. It's narrated by a 40ish gay man who's observing the emotional responses to 9-11, including his own rather sad response of getting addicted to quickies with strangers he meets online. I know, I know, you can just tell from that description that it's a laugh riot. But really, it is.

I'm about halfway through and really hoping for a happy ending; I've gotten rather addicted to those lately.
