Speaking of Jean Webster
as I was, once upon a time, I just started The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society and I suspect the authors are channeling her. Will be interesting to see where it goes.

Nah, not Helene Hanff...reminded me of someone, never did put my finger on it, but not Hanff.
In situation, but definitely not in style. The style is Webster - having just read Dear Enemy, it was really obvious. Many, many common turns of phrase.
